Fashion-impresario Alan Faena teamed up with Philippe Starck to transform an abandoned century-old grain depository into the 108-room Faena Hotel + Universe in the trendy art neighborhood of Puerto Madero, once part of Buenos Aires’ docks. Here, guests are assigned an “experience manager” upon arrival to help them with any detail. Settle into the exquisite decorated rooms that are stylish and playful in layout, textures, and comfort from marble bathrooms to plush velvet armchairs.
The main hall is a curtain-draped area where you can sip on a Malbec in the Library Lounge, a clubby space outfitted with chesterfields and antique lamps. Dine at the on-site restaurants like El Mercado for casual comfort food or the all-white El Bistro for cutting-edge gastronomy with decor a la David Lynch. In the evening, the hotel’s Cabaret heats up for the fabulous Rojo Tango show, the hottest tango in town. Hip and fashionable with decadent style and taste, the details will make you feel like royalty.
