Love yoga? Love wine? Love Nature? We do. Get fit for the holidays and leave behind early Winter to summertime in Chile. There’s no better way to end 2013. We’ll engage in near daily yoga clases, savor wholesome, organic, fresh food, lush Chilean wines, gorgeous landscapes, physical activities like hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, and a private outdoor yoga class. And all in the company of owner Liz Caskey, a yogi herself and enthusiast of healthy, active foodie living.

Day 1
Land this morning in cosmopolitan Santiago at the feet of the Andes. Check into your boutique hotel in the charming neighborhood of Lastarria in the museum and park district of the city.

Today is free to rest and explore our beloved capital city at your own speed. In the evening, meet with owner Liz Caskey at her private apartment overlooking Santiago’s Parque Forestal. Sip on boutique wines and nosh on tapas and inspired from authentic recipes, regional cooking techniques, and the fantastic fresh ingredients. Welcome to Chile! (Boutique Lastarria)

Day 2
Set off to explore the labyrinth of stands at Santiago’s sprawling wholesale market dating back to the late 1800s: seasonal fruits and vegetables, local cheeses, a plethora of meats, mounds of spices, and indigenous foodstuffs. Wander through the maze of picadas, joints, and pull up a stool an old school eatery pumping out Chilean classics like sweet corn tamales, steaming brothy stews, and avocado-laden sandwiches. Sample delicious treats for a late morning snack. After, head to the bustling fish market where seafood turns over at the speed of light. Visit our favorite mongers and watch the show while expert hands perfectly fillet and shuck orders like straight-from-the-sea-fresh fish or tender machas (razor clams).

Drive south from Santiago deep into the countryside. Visit a project in the Andean foothills conceived with the sole objective of making a grand cru from Chile. No detail has been spared here—and the result is concentrated wines with great structure, soft tannins, bright aromas, and a tremendous balance. Get to know the soul of this wine with a tasting of the outstanding 2008 vintage. Afterwards, stay on as their guest for a private luncheon in thei quincho with stunning views of the valley below.

Stop at Colchagua’s oldest winery with terracotta-tiled roofs, whitewashed adobe facades, and hand-painted tiles. Lunch in the charming restaurant aside the polo field. Savor Chilean comfort creations that include grilled fish and meat, stuffed Cornish hens, and their addictive charqui (dried beef) empanadas. Raise your glass of delicious house Viognier or brilliant Caremenere in a hearty salud.

Continue to the Colchagua Valley to your new “home”, a handsome wine lodge, part of the oldest winery in the valley, with terracotta-tiled roofs, whitewashed adobe facades, and hand-painted tiles. Settle into your stylish, country chic room and savor the silence.

After check-in, have a rest or hang out by the pool in the balmy afternoon breeze. In the early evening, change in your yoga clothes and regroup for a sunset power yoga class on the terrace. Stretch, flow, and enjoy the cool summer evening air as the sunsets. Day 3
This morning, start the day with invigorating sun salutations to get your blood pumping and then stretch your muscles with an Iyengar yoga class, focusing on perfecting each pose. Work on your breathing, core strength, and muscle engagement to begin your day feeling strong and renewed.

Freshen up and have some breakfast before heading out to explore more of Colchagua. Visit friends nearby with a petit organic and biodynamic winery producing stellar wines from this cool corner of Colchagua. An inspirational project involving the community, the vineyards reflect this natural, balanced approach to wine-making.

Continue into the valley for a vineyard luncheon at one of Chile’s reference wineries. Under the shade of an ancient grape arbor, sip some dazzling rosé and let the resident chef dazzle you with elegant, simple food made from their biodynamic and organic garden paired with house wines. Heaven. After lunch, swirl down into a gravity-flow winery buried six stories in the earth. Stunningly beautiful, it gives new meaning to understanding wine as an art. Day 4
Check out and travel to Santiago catch your flight south to the Patagonian frontier at the tip of the South American continent, home to the windblown prairies, azure glaciers, and snow-capped mountains. Transfer to the historic Puerto Bories, nestled on the shores of the Last Hope Fjord. Check into your hotel in a handsome brick building built in 1915, now a historical monument. Expertly “recycled” using environmentally friendly architecture, the old frigorífico was transformed into this hipster hotel. Settle into your spacious room with a fjord vista. Visit the hotel’s private collection, a museum about the origins of the region or unwind in their spa. Group dinner in the hotel restaurant with a special wine tasting and pairing of their signature dishes like wild hare salad or seared guanaco fillet.(The Singular Patagonia)

Day 5
This morning, meet with the guides to choose an expedition that best fits your interest:
Horseback riding, kayaking, trekking, biking, and more! While out and about, lunch will be served in special domes prepared for the occasion to keep the wind and elements away while you savor a wonderful luncheon, or return to the hotel for half day tours to savor their delicious, fresh fare.

In the evening, join the group for a private restorative yoga class. Stretch and rejuvenate your entire body as we move through sun salutations and full body stretches. Through meditation, work out any tension or kinks. After class, relax in the sauna, Jacuzzi, or steam bath. Dinner is at the hotel. (The Singular Patagonia)

Day 6
Today we have a group activity planned (Weather permitting). Head out on horseback towards a beautiful lagoon surrounded by rock and caves, The area is known for its panoramic views of the landscape and archeologists have found the remains of prehistoric animals in this area.

After our ride, transfer to an outdoor yoga “classroom” for mid-day outdoor yoga. Take in the beautiful views and relish the perfectly clean, fresh air as you practice your mediation and flow. This is a once-in-a-lifetime yoga possibility.

Take in the stunning views while partaking in a gourmet picnic packed out by the hotel chef. After lunch return to the hotel for rest and relaxation. Tonight, our last group dinner is at the hotel so we’ll raise our organic sparkling wine in a toast to our adventures together! (The Singular Patagonia)

Day 7
Enjoy a leisurely morning on your own. Meet the group and transfer to the airport for an early afternoon flight back to Santiago. Bid farewell to your fellow travelers before boarding your domestic flight back to Santiago and international flight home.
