On this food-and-wine triple-header, sip your way across the Southern Cone’s wine regions in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay. Experience some of South America’s most breathtakingly beautiful landscapes while traveling from the wild flower covered valleys of Chile over the snow-covered Andes to sun-kissed Mendoza, and end in the emerald rolling hills of Uruguay. The wines are diverse as the region’s topography from Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc to Malbec and Tannat. Between succulent meals and your prescribed daily wine, marvel at breathtakingly beautiful landscapes. However it’s the people, those passionate artisans, who you’ll remember when you say chau.

Day 1
Welcome to Chile! Start your exploration of Santiago, the Chilean capital, with a tour of the city’s vibrant markets and a local lunch, prepared and served by your host, owner Liz Caskey, at her private residence. In the afternoon, learn about the country’s culture and history while visiting many important sites, including the Plaza de Armas, Santiago’s main square. In the evening, settle into your hotel and enjoy the evening on your own.

Day 2
Today, travel west from Santiago towards the chilly coastal appellations renowned for their white wines and cooler reds. First, visit a winery only a few kilometers from the shores of the Pacific. Meet with their winemaker and savor their flagship wine in a vertical tasting. After, get to know the petit project of two passionate vintners who have focused on delicious cooler reds. Lunch is at a boutique family winery in the Casablanca Valley where the wines are as gracious as the hosts. In the evening, explore Santiago’s culinary scene on your own.

Day 3
After breakfast, say adios to Santiago and travel south to the Colchagua Valley to sample some of Chile’s finest red wines. This morning, get moving with a hike in the vineyards and native forest of one of the Apalta valley’s oldest wineries. After working up an appetite, relish a private lunch in one of Chile’s most chic and highly acclaimed wineries with a markedly French style. Continue deeper into the heart of cowboy and wine country to arrive at your stunning hotel in its own valley. Check into your stylish, spacious suite with a view and gorgeous contemporary art. This evening, gather as a group for a welcome dinner and introduction to the subtle wines and cuisine of this marvelous terroir.

Day 4
Awaken to the sounds of nature and a scenic breakfast on their terrace. Meet the group and saddle up for a scenic ride through the vineyards to arrive at the state-of-the-art winery. Tour the facilities and sit down in the handsome cellar to a private, professional-style tasting to explore the many terroirs of this project. After, return to the hotel and the rest of the day is free to enjoy—lounge by the pool, head on foot or horseback, or make use of their outstanding spa.

Day 5
Check out of your hotel after breakfast and transfer to the Santiago airport. Take a short, scenic flight to Mendoza, Argentina. After landing i exploration of South America’s most sought-after wine valleys continues. Settle into your chic hotel nestled in a working vineyard just south of the city. In the evening, visit a joint venture between a prestigious French chateau and one of Mendoza’s most renowned wine families with a tasting of special artisan cheeses. Afterwards, savor the grilled dishes of Argentina’s darling celebrity chef, Francis Mallmann, at his flagship restaurant housed in a handsome 19th century bodega, winery. Return to the hotel and rest up for the next day.

Day 6
Today it is all about Argentinean wine and getting to know the nuances of the local landscape. Start in Luján de Cuyo, a Mecca for cultivating some of the best Malbec grapes in the world. Visit a small family-run winery where growing grapes and olives are in their blood. Visit their charming farm and sit down with the family to taste the unique, expressive wines. Next, get to know one of Argentina’s reference winemakers and his passion project. Pequeno pero poderoso, small but powerful, these soulful single vineyard wines are like poetry to the palate. Sit down to tasting menu nearby at a bodega with a view of the Andes. Food is fresh, flavorful, healthy and the perfect portion to enjoy each course (with wine of course!). Return to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day on your own.

Day 7
Have a hearty breakfast and then set off for the high altitude Uco Valley an hour and a half south of Mendoza. Arrive in this agricultural oasis, under the towering Andes, to an innovative “wine condo” created by a prestigious group of French Chateaux owners. Join the winemaker for an exciting, interactive tank and barrel tasting. Nearby, stop at a small project whose focus is on showcasing the stony soil. The results are admirable—subtle, elegant, and deep red wines that are a pleasure on the palate. Lunch nearby at a refined spot with haunting views of the mountains and maybe a lone condor. The menu incorporates seasonal organic ingredients in clever flavor combinations paired with house wines. Return to the hotel and decompress in the evening. It’s a wonderful evening to try the spa and room service!

Day 8
Today, bid farewell to Mendoza and carry on to the last stop on our whirlwind tour of Southern Cone Wines: Montevideo, Uruguay. After landing at the capitals futuristic airport, transfer to your based in a beautiful Belle-Époque Palace.

Day 9
Breakfast at the hotel this morning and head out on a colloquial city tour. Stop off at a colorful market to appreciate the delicacies of Uruguayan seasonal foodstuffs and cuisines. Continue to the historic center along the rambla, coastal road, for a colloquial vision of the capital. Head into the countryside for a relaxed lunch at a small family-run winery making several of our favorite white wines in Uruguay. This evening, join together for a farewell dinner in the vibrant Ciudad Vieja, Old City at the bustling bistro of one of Uruguay’s leading young chefs. Her expressive, clean, soulful cuisine is the perfect way to end a delicious trip.

Day 10
Checkout this morning and head into the countryside where vineyards cover the verdant rolling hills. Stop to visit a friend who’s family hails from the Italian Piedmont and they’ve been making expressive, lip-smacking wines for three generations now. Savor a curated tasting along with artisan charcuterie. Lunch in a windy corridor where a young, innovative couple loves to experiment with less common grape varieties and blends. Meet the owners, walk the vineyards and be invited into their home for a show-stopping last meal together before transferring to the airport for your international departure.
