An hour west of Santiago in the San Antonio wine appellation, and a stone’s throw from the coast, at Matetic, the house rule is kicking back and walking to a slower beat. Their colonial guest house hints of another era although with the tasteful, modern décor and primo service you feel like you’re at home. Silence abounds—the only noises are birds chirping and the whisper of the wind through the eucalyptus trees.
